About The Event
Midterm elections traditionally have much lower voter turnout than presidential election years. In Buncombe County, for example, Congressman Edwards received 16,527 more votes in the 2024 general election than in the 2022 midterm.
2022 General Election (November 8): 44,062 votes (36.74% of total votes cast)
2024 General Election (November 5): 60,589 votes (38.87% of total votes cast)
This represents a 37.5% increase in votes during the presidential election year.
Many voters who participate in presidential elections do not return to vote in the midterms. These are often referred to as low-propensity voters. The "Just 10 More" campaign provides counties with a straightforward, effective strategy for identifying these voters, engaging them, and encouraging them to vote this fall.
If every precinct can increase turnout by just 10% over its 2022 participation, NC-11 will be in a stronger position to help carry statewide races and win more local elections.
